Expressing music visually, the idea was to “paint” elements of Muybridge’s photographic sequences of human actions as if they were palettes of colors. Associatively matching Muybridge to music; a process akin to choosing the right tint of a color when painting. The notes in the music are generally played in a detached and distinctly separate manner, an articulation known as ‘staccato’, just as Muybridge separates the flow of the human motion into distinct still images.
